"INSTILLING THE JOY OF DANCE WITH NURTURING TEACHERS IN A NON-COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT"
Sue Van Voorhis began and shared her love of dance with students in 1975 at the Dance Centre under the direction of Lynnette Schisla. In 1988, Sue and a partner founded The Dance Academy at 116th in Fishers. Many students followed her from the Dance Centre, and with the additional students from the new area, they soon outgrew the location. They opened a new studio upstairs in the Deveaus Gymnastics facility.
In 1999, Sue continued her dream of teaching dance, and became the sole owner of her own studio which is how Academy of Dance Arts was born. She renovated a building located on 116th Street across from the Municipal building. After 6 incredible years, ADA grew so much it brings us to our current brand new 7800 square facility on 121st Street.
The business is now family owned and operated. Sue joins her daughters Laurie Brady, and Julie Meyer, Artistic Director in instilling the joy and sharing their love of dance with their students.
